We just received a shipment of Raku artifacts (shield pictured at right) from Daniel Hawkins. His amazing works are fired and refired to create lusters and glazes heretofore unseen. These beautiful works have to be seen in person to appreciate the depth of color and beauty of the glazes used. Daniel accents his pieces with genuine inlaid turquoise and other gemstones. The shield pictured has great copper luster and matte raku glaze - look at that flashing! The blue element at the top is fused glass done in a second firing. No one else does this type of work. We are proud to add Daniel's works to our gallery.

Everyone needs a little bear fetish in their lives! And what is a bear fetish you ask? The bear symbolizes strength. Since it hibernates every year, it is associated with change. Therefore, the bear fetish offers strength in the face of adversity during the transitions and changes of life. Mary Holmes of Windy Mesa Pottery in New Mexico creates each bear fetish by hand using the horsehair process, polishing each one to a satin finish and embellishing with gemstones of amethyst, turquoise or jasper. They are absolutely adorable! Legend story cards accompany each bear along with a card describing Mary's horsehair technique. Get yours today!
